Pukka Pads realise that as a modern and progressive group of companies, we have a responsibility to be aware of our impact on the environment and a duty to do everything in our means to lessen that impact. We want you to enjoy your Pukka Pad or Pukka Product with the knowledge that we are doing our part.

To ensure we live up to our long-term environmental values, Pukka Pads has made a commitment to:

• Use paper and materials from well-managed and accredited sources & suppliers only

• Undertake the manufacturing and shipping of our products in a responsible manner

• Produce recyclable pads and products only, wherever possible

• Recycle our office and warehouse waste and encourage a healthy working environment

• Always look for ways to improve and secure the future of the paper industry

PRODUCTS & MATERIALS

When it comes to designing and developing new and existing products, a huge amount of time is put into the planning process of the materials we will use. We are happy to share that we have made huge progress in reducing the use of materials which have a negative impact on the environment, this includes:

• Over 70% of our products are made using FSC® Certified paper and board.

• All shrink wrap that our products are supplied in is 100% recyclable, simply recycle alongside other household objects!

• The shrink wrap used for our Recycled Range is made from fully recycled PE plastic.

• All our Pukka Post & Packaging gold bubble-lined envelopes contain between 50-70% recycled plastic content.

• All bubble wrap manufactured in the UK is produced from bubble roll with 40% recycled content.

• All tape used to seal cartons for products coming into our sites is a Biodegradable BOPP tape.

• All wire used in our notebooks is fully recyclable.

PUKKA PLANET RANGE

In 2022, we developed an entire range of planet-friendly stationery called Pukka Planet. With Pukka Planet we can provide you with a green guarantee that this range is made with fully recyclable materials. The combination of FSC® Recycled paper and recyclable packaging means you can put your trust in Pukka Planet

when it comes to providing sustainable, stylish products. Just recycle alongside your household waste, it really is as simple as that. All of our products at Pukka Pads keep the planet in mind, but we are keen to be even greener with Pukka Planet.

SOURCES & SUPPLIERS

All the paper we use for our products originates from sustainable sources. The planting of new trees is important to us; it is a crucial part of eliminating our impact on the environment as well as helping to secure the supply of paper for future generations.

We take pride in ensuring all our paper pads and notebooks are produced from paper that originates from sustainable sources. In 2010, the Pukka Pads production plant was officially certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®). FSC® is an independent, not-for-profit, non–non-government organization established to support environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests.

MANUFACTURING & SHIPPING

All the paper mills we use are ISO9002 and ISO14001 accredited. We also work closely with various recycling companies which allows us to offer recycled paper to all our customers.

As a global business, the transport of our products is kept to an absolute minimum, we manage our shipping in such a way that allows us to distribute products all over the world but does not see any unnecessary movement of stock.

MADE IN BRITAIN

Pukka Pads started with a vision and a whole lot of imagination! Over the past 20 years, we have grown from 1 simple iconic design to a portfolio of over 1,000 products. We are proud to say that all products are designed in Britain and even prouder to say that a large range of these items are still Made In Britain too! This includes a huge range of our ring binders, lever arch files, box files and bubble wrap which are all manufactured in Bingley, West Yorkshire.

OUR SITES

When it comes to sustainability, we don’t stop at our products. We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment not only through creating sustainably sourced, recyclable, vegan products and more but also through generating our own solar power at our primary distribution site in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.

In August 2023, the project commenced with over 70 solar panels being installed here, with plans to continue to add to this in 2024.

We’ll be avoiding approximately 8 tons of CO2 per year, which is the equivalent of:

What’s more, the energy generated by these solar panels will also be powering our fleet of forklifts at the site as well as our electric car charging station!
