Working from home is the new norm for many and it can be great! No early morning commutes, queues for the microwave or un-comfy office wear. However, working from home comes with its own challenges that you probably don’t have to face in the office. With numerous new distractions, slow Wi-Fi and the constant temptation of the fridge, working from home can take a while to get used to. Pukka Pads have a few ways you can ensure you’re as productive as possible working in your home environment:

1. Create a desk space you will enjoy working from:

To work effectively, you need to create a workspace that is stress and clutter free. You want to feel inspired once you sit down and as motivated as possible! Not everyone will be able to dedicate a whole room to working from home, but it is important to have a desk or a table that you can clear and set as your work area.  Once you’ve chosen an area, make sure it’s clear of distractions and you’ve let anyone in your household know when and where you will be working. To ensure your desk is organised and looking good, Pukka have a few products to recommend!

Wild Memo Block: Our Wild Memo Block is ideal for taking quick notes and reminders. With 500 sheets and a funky design, this Memo Block will definitely look the part on your desk!

Bloom Box Files Assorted Black, Blue & Cream: Our A4 Box Files are perfect for creating an organised workspace. The box files feature a securing arm to keep your documents in place and can hold up to 500 sheets of paper. This Bloomin’ Beautiful design would look great on your desk, especially as you can buy matching products here!

Slim Pencil Case: You will, of course, need somewhere to organise all of your pens! These pencil cases come in many designs, so you can choose the one that fits your style best.

2. To Do lists to stay organised:

Starting your day by making a to-do list is a great way to stay on top of your daily tasks and allocate time efficiently. Ticking off each task as it is completed also gives you a sense of accomplishment! Our “Things to do Today” wire bound pad is perfect for this and a great way to keep on top of your workload. With 115 undated sheets you can use these pads whenever you need!

As well as work commitments, we all need to keep track of our personal life too. Our Weekly Planner Pad is ideal for tracking work and personal commitments. As well as helping you stay organised, this planner pad will give you friends some serious desk envy!

3. Take regular breaks:

It may be tempting to work non-stop, but don’t overdo it! It is essential to give your brain a break and have time away from your desk. Just making a cup of tea, reading part of your book and popping outside for some fresh air is a good way to clear the mind.

4. Be equipped to make notes during those Zoom calls:

Working from home means a different way of communicating with colleagues. Whether it’s Zoom, Skype or Teams, you’ll be having many virtual meetings. Stock up on Pukka Pads to ensure you are ready to take notes! Our recommendation is these Kraft A4 Jottas in pack of 3. They have 200 pages of lined, 80GSM premium quality paper and the cover and pages are recyclable! Or add some colour to your desk with the Glee A5 Project Book in Green or Blue.

5. Comfort:

Comfort is key. Make sure your chair is comfy by adding a cushion and ensuring it’s the right height so you don’t strain your neck. Comfy socks or slippers will help to keep you warm and having a water bottle in arms reach will help you to stay hydrated! Why not decorate your desk with a few plants and a snazzy pen pot...after all the nicer your setup, the more motivated you will be!

Naturally, the change of work environment will take you some time to get used to and the key is finding a routine that works best for you. Treat yourself to some stylish stationery to kick start your motivation and stay organised!
